Indicators of Aging Skin include fine to deep wrinkling, sagging skin with loss of elasticity, and tone, sallow and opaque skin, excessively dry skin and hyper-pigmentation or age spots. Scientists agree photo-damage (sun exposure) contributes more to skin aging than heredity, up to 90% of the skin's aging process. Other factors include hormone depletion, waste accumulation, decrease in cell renewal rate, and free radical damage. Heredity and environment aside, women's skin ages up to 10 years faster than men's.

Photo-damaged Skin exhibits slower cell turnover of irregular shape, size and pigment. The epidermis becomes thinner and the stratum corneum becomes thicker. Loss and degradition of collagen causes loss of elasticity and wrinkling. A reduction of the micro-vascular system and blood supply and oxygen to the skin means less nourishment and slower removal of wastes.

Intaglio Treatment for Aging includes the use of AHA glycolic acid causing exfoliation by reducing the hold of lipids on dead cells, accelerating cell renewal. Topical anti-oxidants restore essential nutrients while reducing or neutralizing the damage of free radicals, followed by daily application of sunscreen SPF 15 or higher.

If minor irritation develops, reduce the frequency or number of products used for one or two days and apply Soothing Cream or Anti-oxidant Recovery Gel and apply Anti-oxidant Replenishing Toner as often as needed until the irritation is gone.
