Anti -Aging

It may be a gradual dawning or it may be a sudden jolt,
but there comes a day where the person you see reflected back in the mirror has grown older.

80% of the signs of aging are actually environmental damage. Some calmly accept this as a fact of life while others see it as nothing short of a calamity. The key to a positive attitude here is to understand that while getting older is inevitable, whether or not your skin shows age is completely negotiable. The good news too is that much of what we perceive as skin aging is, in fact, caused by environmental damage that can be treated and prevented. Exposure to the sun (leading to photo-aging or photo-damage) is but one contributing factor. Your history of exposure to pollution, cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, pesticides, toxins and internal stress also contribute to environmental damage. The best-case scenario, of course, is to avoid environmental damage to begin with. But no matter how diligent you may have been throughout your lifetime, a certain degree is inevitable. Rejuvenate, repair and  prevent fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, uneven texture, loss of elasticity and more.

Dry / Sensitive

Dry or sensitive skin requires special care and handling. The key is to deliver moisture and nutrients,
and plenty of them, day and night, without greasiness or irritation.

Dry skin is characterized by a papery, powdery texture with a dull, matte finish. Sensitive skin, which is very often dry as well, is that which becomes irritated on contact with various substances. True skin sensitivity is a relatively rare phenomenon. In fact, most of what is attributed to sensitivity is actually another condition such as very dry skin, rosacea, eczema, over processed skin or an allergic reaction.
What dry skin and sensitivity share?... Compromised barrier function. Structural lipids in the skin bind together to create what is called the lipid barrier function. This protects and preserves the moisture content of the skin that gives the complexion its plump and pleasing smoothness. A weakened or loss of lipid barrier function, notable in both dry and sensitive skin types, means that the skin is unable retain water. Consequently, water escapes while pollutants and other irritating substances penetrate easily. Dehydrated, over time the skin flakes, loses its elasticity, and develops fine lines.
Normal / Combination

Normal, also known as combination, may have an oily T-zone, with dryer areas elsewhere.
Balance them both while preventing the signs of premature aging.

Normal skin, also known as combination skin, is the most common skin type. Fairly balanced in it's production of oil (sebum), normal or combination skin may be oilier in the T zone, with perhaps some dryness at the perimeter of the face.

Everyone's skin falls into a basic skin type - normal, dry, or oily. Genetically determined each has it's own characteristic physiology and best approach for care. But on top of your basic skin type you may have one or more skin concerns to address as well. These concerns may also be hereditary or they may be environmental.
Though the easiest skin type to care for, normal doesn't necessarily signify perpetually perfect or consistently flawless. It merely means that its oil production is about average, not too oily, not too dry. So, even if your skin type is normal, it still may face a host of concerns including acne, environmental damage, fine lines and wrinkles, and many others.

Acne Prone

Whether a single blemish or face full of multiple lesions, it's all acne. Put problem skin behind you with our patented, scientifically proven acne formulas.

The most common skin disorder in the United States, acne(acne vulgaris) is a chronic condition that affects all ages, every ethnicity and both sexes. Acne< can occur on the face, neck, chest, shoulders and upper back. Though not curable, it is highly manageable and controllable. Acne affects nearly 17 million people in the U.S., making it the most common skin disease in the country. But why does it happen? When skin is functioning optimally, the sebaceous glands produce oil that empties onto the skin's surface. At the same time, dead skin cells are shed at a normal rate as newer, fresher cells rise to the surface. Sometimes, these dead cells shed too fast, clump together and clog the pore. This is called non-inflammatory acne. If this plug stays below the skin's surface, it is called a 'closed comedone' or whitehead. If the plug reaches the skin&'s surface and is exposed to air, an 'open comedone' or blackhead forms. Contrary to popular belief, the black color is not caused by dirt but rather is due to a process of oxidation.
Besides these non-inflammatory blemishes, you may also have larger, more inflamed breakouts. Inflammatory acne starts when the combination of excess skin cells and oil cause pore-aggravating bacteria to develop. This leads to pimples, redness and overall irritation.

Pigmentation
 & Sun Damage

Hyper-pigmentation is only one symptom of sun damage, it's symptoms include
Freckles, Age or 'liver' spots, Uneven complexion, Melasma, Acne spotting...
Treat, repair and prevent fine lines, wrinkles, rough texture, loss of tone and more.

Pigmentation (more accurately called hyper-pigmentation) and sun damage (solar photo-damage or photo-aging) are two closely related issues. While both result from sun exposure, each has other triggers as well. Photo-aging befalls all skin types though paler complexions suffer more. Photo-aging is the primary component – though not the only one - of environmental damage. More than just a cosmetic concern, photo-damage is a major precursor for skin cancer. A common symptom of solar photo-damage is hyper-pigmentation. A condition that can also affect any skin type, it is more visible, again, on those with fairer skin.

Redness & Irritation

Designed to address Rosacea-like redness and associated concerns. Our patented products are specifically formulated to calm and strengthen fragile skin
while also reducing redness and inflammation.

Though the cause is unknown, the rosacea-like redness can impact how we face the world. whether its a slight ruddiness to the complexion or a full blush, redness on the face can be embarrassing to anyone who suffers from it. But there is hope to understand what is happening to the skin and control the symptom of facial redness and irritation.
Excessive skin redness is often accompanied by sensitivity, flushing, heat and overall tightness. skin that suffers from rosacea-like redness is influenced by outside factors called triggers. These "triggers" determine when redness occurs and/or how severe the symptoms are. To reduce the severity or occurrences of these triggers, fragile skin requires vital nutrients that will help strengthen cell function, reduce inflammation and avoid irritation.
Peri-Menopause/ Transitional

Menopause is part of life.  But it's symptoms of skin  dehydration , dullness
and uneven pigmentation, irritation, and unwanted facial hair growth are not something
you have to live with.  Balancing transition begins here.

Menopause marks the natural end of a woman's reproductive period as estrogen hormone production ceases. Menopause is said to be complete once a woman has not had a menstrual cycle for a full year. For most, this typically occurs sometime between the ages of 45 and 55. The terms going through menopause or menopausal are commonly used to describe the changes or symptoms a woman may experience before she stops menstruating altogether. More accurately, what she is actually going through is peri-menopause.

Peri-menopause - also known as menopause transition or what euphemistically used to be referred to as ' the change' - is the phase up to ten years prior to menopause when the ovaries gradually produce less estrogen. This usually starts in a woman's 40s, though in some can begin as early as the 30s. The last year or two of peri-menopause, as the reduction of estrogen accelerates, are usually the most difficult.

Response to symptoms
A woman's response, both physically and emotionally, to peri-menopause and menopause is highly individual. Some sail right through with few symptoms, while others experience total upheaval not unlike adolescence in reverse. Fluctuating hormones can lead to irregular cycles and mood swings. Nor is skin, the largest organ in the body, immune to systemic changes that menopause brings. The bodys progressive depletion of estrogen can have a noticeably negative impact on skin texture, tone, elasticity, and clarity.  There is good news however, and that is, forewarned is forearmed. Though menopause is inevitable, it can be managed and managed successfully if you take the right approach.
